Passion for Innovation

As we prepare to celebrate our 20th anniversary this fall, I have spent a lot of time reflecting on the clients and projects we’ve been blessed with over the years. This reflection has given me new insight on where we’ve been and where we are headed.

In 1990 when I started the company, I saw a need in the industry for quality outsourced engineering services that provided excellence in project documentation. We initially began as an embedded electronics systems provider and now offer turnkey product development services. We have gained a robust knowledge base from a wide variety of projects and industries.

The one main thread that connects our past to our future is a passion for innovation. Over the years, we have talked with hundreds of inventors with ideas and companies holding patents to new technology. So why is our passion in innovation and not invention?

Invention is an idea (a new device or process) resulting from study and experimentation. Many of these ideas are issued patents to help protect the intellectual property. Innovation is the practical application of new inventions into marketable products or services. Innovation turns the ideas into reality.

As Paragon moves towards the next 20 years, we too are embracing innovation within our organization. Robert Brand of Innovation Management states in his blog “innovation is the lifeblood of any company and RROI is the heart of your sustainable growth strategy.” Innovation is at the heart of what we do every day for our clients.

This blog is dedicated to new product innovation. We plan to share our insights on design and development and the continued pursuit of quality innovation.
